Valley Box Utilizes Animated Packaging Series to Expand Online Reach

Valley Box Company Utilizes Animated Packaging Series to Expand Online Reach. We used Xtranormal to bring their company mascot to life, a 7 foot tall cardboard robot that goes by the name of Robox. Robox has packaging on the brain constantly, the series follows him as he’s left home for college to become a packaging engineer.

“The packaging industry can tend to be very technical and dry,” Alicia Eschwege Marketing Director of Valley Box Company says, “We wanted to bring the humor and the natural charm of our mascot to life. Xtranormal was a great tool that gave us the ability to animate with a ridiculously low budget!” View the 12 episode series by visiting http://www.youtube.com/valleybox.

The pilot episode of “The Robox Show” aired June 2010 and each new episode was released monthly. July marks the last episode in the series and ends in a cliff hanger. “My favorite episode involves the iPad, I still laugh when Robox asks why an iPad would break, because pads are soft,” laughs Eschwege. Companies like Geico have utilized Xtranormal’s adorably low-fi cartoon characters spouting robotic dialogue for televised commercials. At least one newscast has used it to dramatize news events. Google and Unilever utilize the software to create internal training videos.
