Production Planner & Scheduler

 

$35-$42/hr

CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Hourly Non-Exempt

 The purpose of this role in the organization is to support Valley Box's daily production flow by managing job scheduling, coordinating materials, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to bridge communication between Sales, Engineering, and Production, and a solutions-oriented approach to managing a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Department – Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Fully understand job requirements and responsibilities
  • Maintain and update daily and weekly production schedules for Steel and Wood departments
  • Forecast labor and capacity to prevent overtime and production bottlenecks
  • Create, review, and release work orders and cut schedules in Excel and ERP
  • Track job progress, delivery status, and schedule changes
  • Prepare the daily Operations Snapshot Report
  • Print, audit, and distribute pack lists and barcode travelers for production
  • Schedule deliveries, pickups, and coordinate with internal drivers and third-party vendors
  • Audit and correct barcode clock-outs and work order labor entries
  • Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of your department's output

Communication

  • Bilingual Spanish/English required
  • Serve as a key contact for Production and Sales to confirm job timelines and customer commitments
  • Communicate job risks, quality issues, or timeline impacts to management
  • Maintain positive and professional communication with all departments
  • Identify process improvements and propose operational solutions to management
  • Update Manager/Supervisor on daily work assignments as needed

 

Special Training

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets (formulas, formatting, reporting)
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems for order creation and scheduling
  • 3+ years experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations coordination required
  • Manufacturing environment experience preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Provide cross-department support with inventory verification and month-end counts
