Wood Scrap Recyling

by Valley Box Green Packaging on Mar 1, 2015 12:57:00 PM

At Valley Box Company we incorporate sustainable business practices into our operations by recycling all wood scrap with Waste Management’s commercial recycling services. The goal with every recycling program is to retain as much value as possible, WM helps to do that by turning our materials into new resources.

Wood scrap becomes wood mulch, which protects bare soil and offers:

  • Erosion Control
  • Sediment control
  • Tracking Control
  • Wind Erosion Control
  • Non-Storm water Management Control
  • Waste Management and Materials Pollution Control

Wood scrap also can become biomass fuel (aka biomass energy or biofuel). Bioenergy technologies produce many energy related products including:

  • Electricity
  • Liquid fuels
  • Solid fuels
  • Gaseous Fuels
  • Heat
  • Chemicals

Utilizing bioenergy reduces pollution and helps control carbon dioxide emissions. It ranks second, to hydropower, in renewable U.S. primary energy production and accounts for 3% of the primary energy production in the U.S.

Did you know: You can recycle most common C&D materials (Construction & Demolition) which account for almost 22% of the waste stream, including: lumber, drywall, metal, concrete, porcelain, rigid plastics, tile, lumber, metals, masonry, plastic, rock, carpet, insulation and more.
