Types of Wood Containers
Wooden containers for industrial shipping applications have been the foundation of Valley Box since 1965. Custom-designed crates, boxes and skids for any purpose or need is our specialty. We use CAD programs when a customer's engineering department must approve critical tolerances in the box design. Additionally, internal components such as customized saddles and bracing can easily be designed and installed to accommodate your specific requirements. Wood containers are the most cost effective, environmentally safe and recyclable exterior package.
Style A
Style A wooden shipping containers are suggested for light to medium duty loads up to 700 lbs. Generally constructed with 3/8" plywood sheathing, with either 1x2", 1x4" or 2x4" cleats on all six panels. Much like a Skid & Top box, the Style A box can accommodate many load configurations with forklift entry skids, thicker plywood panels, joists, corner posts, inserted base, and choice of fasteners.
