On August 22, 2012, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approved a final rule on so-called conflict minerals. The rule implements disclosure requirements mandated by Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act signed in 2010.
